Quantum Sciences and Technology
The University of Copenhagen/the Faculty of Science is a birthplace of quantum mechanics. Today the faculty is one of the most active in the area of quantum physics with light and matter in Europe and worldwide. Internationally active research groups work in modern quantum science and technology with the main focus areas centered at quantum transport in superconductors/semiconductor/magnet hybrid systems, quantum states of matter in, and out of, equilibrium, quantum optical light-matter interfaces, theoretical quantum optics, quantum photonics as well as the interplay between quantum matter and quantum information.
Among the research projects within the field of Quantum Science and Technology are quantum simulations with single photons, (topological) quantum bits, quantum electronic and spintronic devices, strongly correlated or driven quantum phases of matter, measurements beyond standard quantum limits and generation of non-classical states of motional and spin degrees of freedom.
The departments, centers and sections mentioned below are examples of places where it would be possible to conduct research within the programme area. As is stated in the TALENT Guide for Applicants, applicants are to indicate the research department they see most fit to host their project.
